In Kahootz will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec.14, at Whiskey Dick’s Saloon. Free show for guests 21 and older. In Kahootz is a new South Lake Tahoe local band with Lowell Wilson on the keys, John McCollum on the drums, Kristina Nieskens on vocals and Jacob Melvoin on guitar. The band started unknowingly in a Lyft in on the way to Stateline. Kristina started chatting with her driver and quickly learned they were both musicians and he was a drummer in a local band. John invited Kristina to sit in with his band, The Roemers, one night. A few months later, he gave Lowell a call and they formed this little trio: In Kahootz! Recently, guitarist Jacob Melvoin joined, making it a quartet.
