The Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews & Blues Festival

Presented by the Eldorado Resort Casino, Tommy Castro & The Painkillers, Five for Fighting and Tonic headline The Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews & Blues Festival, the annual street party in downtown Reno. More than 50 mircobrews will be poured.

The Bay Area’s Tommy Castro has released 18 albums since 1994. He has twice been named the Blues Music Awards’ B.B. King Entertainer of the Year, the highest honor a bluesman can receive. Read Tommy Castro’s interview about appearing at in Reno this week.

Los Angeles-based Tonic is a post-grunge band with two Grammy Nominations.; It was formed in 1993 by Emerson Hart and Jeff Russo.

Five for Fighting is the artist Vladimir John Ondrasik III, a pianist who has had three Top 40 singles: “Superman (It’s Not Easy,” “100 Years” and “The Riddle.”

Reno blues guitarist Jason King also will perform, along with Nashville country rock bluesman Shane Dwight. Blues guitarist Maxx Cabello Jr. from San Jose, recently played an unusual show, performing at San Quentin State Prison.
