Frankie Ballard will appear at TJ’s Corral at the Carson Valley Inn at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 2. Ticket prices start at $33.
Ballard had three consecutive No. 1 singles off of his debut album; his first single to hit No. 1, “Helluva Life” in late 2013, followed by the album’s title track “Sunshine & Whiskey” in 2014, and “Young & Crazy” in the summer of 2015. As they sometimes do, this album’s mantras from two of Ballard’s number one singles – that “bad times make the good times better” and “gotta do a little wrong so I know what’s right” – have become rallying cries and life-affirming mottos for many of his fans.
Ballard first hit the public spotlight with two Top 30 singles, “Tell Me You Get Lonely” and “A Buncha Girls,” appearing on the Grand Ole Opry and playing packed arenas opening for Kenny Chesney and on major tours with Taylor Swift and longtime idol Bob Seger. About his singles “Whiskey” and “Drinky Drink,” Ballard says, “I’ve been making music for a living for about ten years now and I’ve found myself in a bit of trouble from time to time. The two things that always put me there – women and whiskey.”
