Dustbowl Revival, Sweetwater String Band

Concerts at Commons Beach 2016 opens with a doubleheader: Dustbowl Revival and the Sweetwater String Band. The music at Tahoe City is from 3-7 p.m.

The Dustbowl Revivial is an eight-piece posse from Los Angeles that takes audiences on an adventure through a number of American roots music styles, pumped up with a modern jolt of flair and rock and roll. The band taps into the traditions of jazz troubadors, Prohibition-era folksters and swinging bluesmen, inspiring congertgoers to get up and dance. Meanwhile, the Sweetwater String Band Categorizes its music as soulgrass, which blends “Chatham County Line style lyricism with Yonder Mountain String Band style energy.” It features Scott Roberts on mandolin, Dave Huebner on cello, Patrick Ferguson on upright bass and Jeff Meadway on guitar.
