Boca Do Rio plays at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, on Commons Beach in Tahoe City. The weekly free show goes until 4 p.m.
Hailing from San Francisco and Goiania, Brazil, Boca do Rio serves up Brazalian space funk — “original music for original lives.” The Afro-Brazilian world music band delivers a blend of pop hooks, pleasing vocal harmonies and funky rhythms. Boco do Rio takes its name for the Portuguese “mouth of the river” — the place where myriad streams and sources converge into one powerful, flowing physical energy.
