Black Star Safari

Help Whiskey Dick’s Saloon celebrate its 10th anniversary at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14. South Lake Tahoe’s favorite rock and funk duo, Black Star Safari, will perform. No cover charge for fans 21 and older, who may partake of Tahoe Blue Vodka drink special throughout the night. Raffle for prizes that include snowboards, lift tickets, swag and more. Black Star Safari is Dan Green on guitar and vocals and Matt Mandella on drums and vocals. The band also played at last year’s anniversary bash at Whiskey Dick’s. Adrian Mills, a bartender at the saloon when he’s not booking shows there, noted: “We’re a place for local and out-of-town bands, from big to small. We make sure live music stays thriving in town. … “People don’t realize how lucky they are that this place exists. We’re a venue where you can see a good live act for a reasonable price (sometimes free) in an intimate setting.”
