40 Watt Hype headlines Live at Lakeview at South Lake Tahoe’s Lakeview Commons at 6 p.m. South Shore’s 4 Piece Puzzle kicks off the show at 4:30.
40 Watt Hype will bring its brand of alternative Latin music, hip-hop and soul to Tahoe. “In the center of California, from a culture that is the underbelly of L.A. and San Francisco, from the bass bumping out of the ’84 Cutlass to the backyard fiestas, the music of 40 Watt Hype is created — live hip-hop cultivated from the seeds of a favorite dusty soul record with a Latin b side.” South Shore’s funky 4 Piece Puzzle will open the show, featuring Seth Hall on saxophone, Chad Laurence on bass, keyboards and vocals, Ryan Cassidy on guitar, bass and vocals, and Martin Bush on drums, percussion and vocals. Singer Molly Taylor often adds another piece to the puzzle. Expect to hear a mix of funk, jazz, punk, rock, reggae and soul.
