How do you spice up Tahoe’s sounds of summer: Just add Pepper.

The fun-loving trio from Kona, Hawaii will headline Tahoe Island Vibes on Sunday, Aug. 8, in the MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa’s Showroom,: Late-Nite Productions announced today.

J Boog, who plays a blend of island music, Jamaican reggae and R&B, also will perform, along with Vana Liya, the first solo and female artist signed to Pepper’s Law Records label.

Unlike several reggae bands inspired by Sublime in the 1990s, Pepper found success emulating a band called Three Plus, which played Jawaiian music, a hybrid of Hawaiian and Jamaican styles.

Pepper’s original lineup remains intact after 24 years: Yesod Williams plays drums, Kaleo Wassman plays guitar and sings and Bret Bollinger plays bass and sings. The put on a high-energy, positive vibration show.

Advance tickets are $39.50. Go to ticketmaster.com or call the MontBleu Box Office, 775-588-3515. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8.
