Altus Fest: New Tahoe party features EDM, hip-hop, skiing

With winter in full swing, and a wave of storms forecast to bring even more powder to the slopes around Lake Tahoe, our entertainment season is just beginning to kick off. And fresh into the new year it’s starting with a bang.

Altus Festival, a brand new all-inclusive winter party, has just announced its inaugural event for the slopes of Heavenly Mountain Resort this coming March. The festival treats visitors to four days and four nights — all accommodations included — on the ski slopes, with a lineup of electronic and hip-hop performers on a massive scale.

Bonobo, The Sugarhill Gang with DJ Melle Mel and Scorpio, Whomadewho, Justin Martin and Behrouz headline a lineup of nearly 50 performers who will be playing live throughout the festival. Attendees will have access to Heavenly’s 4,800 acres of terrain that tops out with stunning views across Lake Tahoe at more than 10,000 feet.

In addition to the DJs and artists performing each night, there will be a number of electronic music collectives putting on dedicated showcases – including Sunset Sound System and Pink Mammoth.

Altus Festival runs from March 18-21, all packages include 4 nights lodging, 3-day Heavenly ski passes, and access to musical events and official after parties.

Shaun Astor cites pop music singers and social deviants as being among his strongest influences. His vices include vegan baking, riding a bicycle unreasonable distances and fixating on places and ideas that make up the subject of the sentence, "But that’s impossible…" He splits his time between Reno and a hammock perched from ghost town building foundations.
