Since its inception in 2018, Sacramento’s Sol Blume Festival has mixed a premier R&B lineup that includes national along with Northern California performers and a regionally focused collection of art, food and vendors. Following this year’s springtime flooding of the Discovery Park area beside the American River, Sol Blume was rescheduled to the weekend on Aug. 19-20.
A who’s who list of performers including Kehlani, Brent Faiyaz, Teyana Taylor, Pink Sweat$, , Jessie Rayaz and Ella Mai top the lineup of 35 artists set to take the festival’s two stages. Beyond the music, Sol Blume has built the entire festival experience around creating a positive and artistic vibe with a strong emphasis on the local. The Sol’R Skating Rink lets anyone borrow a pair of roller skates and headphones and circle the track while listening to a rinkside DJ curating a playlist of music. Art installations fill up the festival grounds, providing photo ops for attendees. The festival has recently made an effort to expand their offering to include more interactive installations and experiences as well. And local food trucks and vendors will have their wares available.
Over the years that we’ve attended, we’ve cited Sol Blume on our end of the year Best Of lists, and can’t recommend enough how the festival plays out like a mixtape of some of the best R&B and hip-hop artists currently performing set amidst a fashionable backdrop of attendees set on the harmonious vibes of the event.
Weekend passes are still available in both General Admission, and an upgraded VIP experience that grants entrance to preferred viewing areas and an exclusive section of food trucks and lounge seating.
