A fun summer festival is happening on August 29th and 30th at the J Resort Festival Grounds in Reno, Nevada. Brighter Daze Festival presented by JMF Presents is scheduled for two days packed with amazing artists, good food, great vendors and delicious drinks. I will be highlighting one band scheduled for each day and will check back in after the fest with all the goods.
Performing Saturday, Iration has been active since 2004 and brings a roots reggae sound with a party vibe. We were fortunate to be able to interview Micah “Poosh” Pueschel of the band about their upcoming Reno show and the band’s musical plans and dream collaborations:
Tahoe Onstage: How long has been since you guys have played around here?
Iration: It’s been about a year. Lake Tahoe reggae fest I believe.
TO: Who are you looking forward to watching at Brighter Daze?
Iration: Rebelution. They have new music out and I’m looking forward to seeing them play. Soja has a lot of energy and they put on a great show. All the bands like Aurorawave and Bikini Trill, they’re our friends. I look forward to catching up with everyone more since we are all busy working.
TO: What are the band’s preshow preparations/rituals?
Iration: We do a pinkys in cheer that is different every night depending on what we want to inspire us.
TO: Any special surprises or guests coming up for your set at BD?
Iration: Well if we told you it wouldn’t be a surprise! To be truthful it happens more right before or day of and more spontaneous.
TO: You all have collaborated with artists that are playing , is there someone playing that you would love to collaborate with?
Iration: Kanaka Fyah!! I really like what the guys are doing right now. We just played a show with them in Vegas and got to hang out with them. They are from the Big Island like us, from the same place. What they are doing is awesome and it would be really cool to do something together.
TO: What has the band been up to recently?
Iration: We released an album in May and have been on tour for that, we finished early back in June. We have been weekend warriors in August. We have been enjoying the time at home in the summer.
TO: What’s next after BD?
Iration: Chilling back with family for most of September, we have some weddings and birthday parties to celebrate. We have some songs in the chamber that were left over from the album that we want to share.
