While the cold season here in the Reno/Tahoe area has us fantasizing of warm weather outdoor concerts awaiting somewhere in the distance, our neighbors across the salty pond in northern Utah are cooking up plans for May 2025’s Kilby Block Party weekend long festival.
The Salt Lake City event has a history of putting together larger than life lineups, and 2025’s seems to have outdone all previous efforts. Weezer (performing the Blue album), Justice, and Beach House will each headline a different evening, with 80’s new wave stalwarts New Order and Devo kicking off the whole thing on Thursday night.
But it’s not only the headliners here, KBP’s lineup boasts plenty of great smaller acts. St. Vincent, TV On The Radio, Yo La Tengo, Slowdive, Toro Y Moi, Wisp, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart and Tennis are just a few of the 75 acts scheduled to play.
Originally created to help throw an anniversary party for Salt Lake City’s long running all ages venue Kilby Court, the annual independently produced festival, now in its sixth year, has continued to grow and bring a lineup mixing styles of music.
