May 2026
The Tahoe party of the year kicks off on Friday, May 15th at the Placer Country Fairgrounds. This will be the 4th annual Golden Road Gathering, a grassroots music festival known for curating an eclectic lineup that offers something for everyone in addition to the music you didn’t know you liked until you heard it. Set in the beautiful Placer County Fairgrounds, Golden Road Gathering will be a beautiful weekend of music and community and we can’t wait to have you enjoy it with us.
Day 1 of the festival is Funky Friday, featuring a 2 hour headlining set from funk powerhouse Lettuce, as well as sets from the Hip Abduction and Cimafunk amongst others throughout the day and into the evening. For late night, Lespecial and High Step Society will carry the party until 3am. One of the great things about this festival is that all late night shows are INCLUDED thanks to the sponsor Lost On Main venue in Chico, CA so you don’t have to choose between a couple slices of pizza from the vendors and the late night show. Go chow down and then head to late night and boogie!

Day 2 of the festival brings jamtronica and rap/hip hop vibes with headlining acts like Chali 2na & Cut Chemist, along with two sets from the infamous STS9. Don’t miss Lindsay and the Cheeks, a South Lake Tahoe favorite playing two sets on the Keep Smilin’ stage earlier in the day. Saturday has so much variety in the lineup you are sure to find some new music that you never saw coming your way! The late night for Saturday features the Polish Ambassador and Boombox, with a special Boombassador cross over set.
Day 3 begins with Funky Frontier on the Keep Smilin’ stage, followed by Terrier on the main stage, an acoustic folk duo consisting of Ben Morrison of the The Brothers Comatose and Erika Tietjen of T Sisters. Following that is a nice little pop of reggae with Blu Egyptian jamming with Junior Toots of the legendary Toots & The Maytals. The rest of the day leans heavily into bluegrass, featuring the Craven Quartet, The Brothers Comatose, and two sets from Leftover Salmon to close out the main stage. There’s something about bluegrass in the air on a music festival Sunday, and there’s a reason why folks say to “never miss a Sunday show”. Don’t think just because it’s the last day of the festival that we’re not partying late into the night. Local favorites Bootjuice and Moxie Barker will keep the party going until 2am in the late night hall.

Golden Road Gathering is going to be bursting at the seams with beautiful music and is sure to fill up your cup. This festival is the perfect size, feeling like home but still having a big enough presence to book artists like STS9 and Leftover Salmon. The Sierras are buzzing with excitement for this festival so you better get your ticket here before they sell out!
