Well cheers to summer as it finally showed up on the last day of May. Saturday was in the 90’s which may have been perfect weather for those coming out to the Capital City Brewfest in Downtown Carson City to support a good cause and of course try all the beers! Ya it was a hot one but aside from the selection of frosty beverages, the crowd kept cool with shade spots, misters, fans, and a splash zone for the day long event.
The Rotary Club of Carson City hosts this annual fundraiser to raise money that they use to give back to the Carson City community in the form of student scholarships and awards, recreation projects, and food and health programs, amongst other projects. The Brewfest DJ provided a good mix of songs for the soundtrack of the day, he even got the Rotary Club dancing to The Village People’s “YMCA”. A few different food trucks on site let those present people could load up on good food while they sampled the breweries. Tables and chairs were out too so folks liked that option for eating or just able to get off their feet for a bit.
The winner of the cornhole tournament took home a $500 prize. And congratulations to Shoetree Brewing on winning the People’s Choice Award. People enjoyed dancing into the end of the Brewfest and it was a grand turnout.
Keep up with future Capital City Brewfest events and updates here.
