Summer brings many things to Squaw Valley – longer days, sunny skies, and open trails. It also brings Yoga Squaw’d, a series of free yoga classes on Wednesday evenings beginning July 1 and continuing through Aug. 26.
Presented by The Village at Squaw Valley’s Wanderlust Studio, the open-air classes take place on First Street in the heart of the valley beneath the peaks of the Sierra. The 75-minute classes begin at 5 p.m. and are led by the area’s most experienced yoga instructors. In addition to highlighting a different style of yoga each Wednesday, live, soothing music will greet attendees as they enter the Village putting them in a relaxed and centered state of mind.
Yoga Squaw’d participants can explore The Village at Squaw Valley before or after the yoga sessions for even more relaxation with a visit to Trilogy Spa for a massage or facial. Yogis can also take advantage of multiple retail shopping opportunities as well as food and beverage options such as Uncorked, the Village’s wine bar.
Wanderlust Studio also offers a series of workshops throughout the summer, and classes daily year round. The 1,000-square-foot studio welcomes walk-ins.
Squaw Valley has become a beacon for yogis of all levels and abilities in recent years, particularly with the annual Wanderlust Festival. The festival takes place this year July 16-19 and attracts thousands of students and teachers taking part in a myriad of methods, meditations, classes, and activities.
