Remember the 1990s when people carried pagers instead of cell phones and they listened to music on portable CD players? That’s when music began to break up into different genres like grunge, gansta rap, electronic dance, Britpop, ska punk and reggae rock. That’s also when alternative rock became mainstream.
Music fans can go back to the ‘90s this summer, although it will cost a lot more in gas money, when the Summerland Tour comes to Reno in Cargo at the Whitney Peak Hotel. The concert will be Friday, Aug. 7. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 27,
The celebration of 1990s music was created in 2012 by Everclear’s Art Alexakis and Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath.
This year’s Summerland Tour will include Everclear, Fuel, American Hi Fi and the Toadies. Devildog Productions made the announcement this afternoon.
