For the first time since 2019, Sacramento’s boutique R&B festival, Sol Blume, is scheduled to come back, and the festival is exponentially larger than previous years.
This year’s event will take place over the course of two days at the much larger grounds of Discovery Park – a leap in scale from the fest’s first two years across a single afternoon and evening at Caesar Chavez Park in downtown. The event that was making creating a name for itself, drawing crowds from the Sacramento, Reno and Bay Area regions, sat the last two years out during the pandemic, however it looks as if they’re making up for that absence with a 40-artist lineup featuring performers across the R&B and hip hop communities.
Jorja Smith, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Jhene Aiko and Summer Walker are set to headline, while other performers include Alina Baraz, Thundercat, Tinashe, Sinead Harnett, Rexx Life Raj and Victoria Monet. Sol Blume alumni including Smino, Kiana Lede will also be returning to perform at this year’s festival.

Over the previous events, Sol Blume has been one of our favorite festivals to attend each year on the strength of the lineups which have normally featured a stacked lineup of up-and-coming artists seemingly curated by a team that have a skill for booking artists just before they explode. Take Jhene Aiko who headlined Sol Blume’s inaugural festival just after the release of her second album.
In addition to the music, Sol Blume will feature art installations throughout the grounds.
This year’s Sol Blume promises two days of chilled beats and grooves with a fashionable audience in the Sacramento spring.
