Afternoon winds threatened to put a chill on South Lake Tahoe’s weekly get-together, but by the time the Scott Pemberton Band blew into town, Live at Lakeview was comfortably warm. And the music was hot. Big Sticky Mess started the show at 4:30 p.m. Next Thursday is the Fourth of July, so there will be no live music, just fireworks after the sun goes down. Live at Lakeview returns on July 11 with TapWater, a jazzy new Portland band formed by Rudy Slizewski, the former steel drummer with Scott Pemberton. Barnsmoke, the openers, is an emerging newgrass quartet out of South Shore. Patrick Croke plays mandolin; Christopher Paranzino, guitar; Andy Voelkel, banjo; and Chad Lawrence, keyboard.
