Photographer’s notebook: It has been too long since I have seen Yonder Mountain String Band. I forgot just how good they are. Not only is each band member at the top of their game, the true talent is the sum of their parts. With superb solos by each of them, the duets and trading back and forth between them it is a delight to watch.  When their newest members Allie Kral (fiddle) and Jacob Jolliff (mandolin) get going together, there are no limits.  And then Allie comes out and belts some vocals and you say to yourself “oh ya, and she can sing!”  Her rendition of “Son of a Preacher Man” stole the show.
