Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros perform at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 12, in Cargo at the Whitney Peak Hotel. Opening band to be announced. For ages 18 and older. Tickets are $26.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros takes its name from a story written by lead singer Alex Ebert about a messianic character. Formed in Los Angeles in 2007, the band combines elements of rock, folk, gospel and psychedlic music, with a sound and aura remindful of the hippie era of the 1960s and 1970s. In April, Edward Sharpe released its fourth studio album, “Person A.” The band earned a Grammy Award in 2013 for Best Music Film and two World Music Awards in 2014 for Best Video and Best Song.
