Tim Snider will bring some talented friends to a homecoming concert tonight in the Crystal Bay Casino.
The former Reno resident last year moved to Portland, Ore., where he has been involved in several musical projects. Tonight his playing with a group, which his website describes its sound as “World-folk hybrid aimed at the heart, the brain and the feet.”
“Some of my favorite instrumentalist on the plant, House of Waters, will be joining me for a short West Coast tour as well as playing a week of educational shows in the Reno/Tahoe area,” Snider posted on his website. Tonight is the fifth and final show on the tour.
Tahoe Onstage was unable to connect with Snider for this article.
Tonight’s show starts at 10 p.m. in the Red Room.
A multi-instrumentalist, Snider is best known for his musicianship on the violin, which he picked up at age 3 ½. He formerly played in the Reno folk-rock band Sol Jibe.
Solo albums include “Let Go, Jump In The River,” 2013, and “Del Mar Session,” 2011.
In the last year Snider has played the High Sierra Music, Sisters Folk and Joshua Tree Music festivals. He also performed in Brazil and Costa Rica.
