St. Patrick’s Day treat: Delhi 2 Dublin at Whiskey Dick’s Saloon

Delhi 2 Dublin plays Whiskey Dick’s Saloon on St. Patrick’s Day.

Delhi 2 Dublin is an appropriate band to see on any day, but the ultimate time is St. Patrick’s Day.

The Vancouver band performs on the Irish day of celebration Monday, March 17, at South Lake Tahoe in Whiskey Dick’s Saloon.
Late-Nite Production’s Billy Drewitz said Delhi 2 Dublin is his favorite band and he books the Canadians every time they tour the region. That relationship doubtless enabled the fortuitous landing of the Celtic-based band on St. Paddy’s Day.

There will be green beer, green Jello shooters, Irish whiskey and Guinness served all night. Opening for the show which starts around 9 p.m. (doors at 8) will be Benjah Ninjah, Breaklow (Beatkarma) and Fryielle.
Delhi 2 Dublin has its own sound, which is a blend of Bhangra, Celtic, Dub Reggae, Rock and Electronica.

The band’s recent album is “Turn Up The Stereo.”

“Sometimes we just need to drown out the noise of the world by making the music louder,” singer Sanjay Seran said in press statement.
Tarun Nayar, who handles electronics and plays tabla in the band, adds, “We spent 10 times the amount of time and effort writing this album than we have in the past. … We hope people will like this album. We wanted to make something fun that will help us do what we love, which is travelling around the world, playing music and connecting with people.”

Hanu, the monkey on the album cover, is the subject of a new video by the band, who appear in animation. The storyline revolves around the disappearance of Hanu. Watch it here: VIDEO
