Beats Antique to visit Cargo Concert Hall with Middle Eastern inspired EDM

Call it electronic world fusion, ethnotronica, or maybe tribal EDM, regardless Beats Antiques merging of musicianship that combines looped rhythms and Middle Eastern beats are the creation of instrumentalists coming from a diverse musical background. Combine this with the bellydancing of member Zoe Jakes, and Beats Antique have become known for crafting a unique live performance.

Set to play at downtown Reno’s Cargo Concert Hall on Thursday, February 23rd, Beats Antique’s flowing and infectious music and live shows have made the group a mainstay on the electronic music festival scene, having played at fests like Same Same But Different, Sonic Bloom, Electric Forest and Suwannee Hulaween.

Having starting the band with the intention of combining each members’ array of musical influences and backgrounds, Beats Antique sound encapsulates a mix of downtempo electronic, Balkan wedding music, flamenco, belly dance, jazz and Middle Eastern grooves. The group brings a live performance unlike any other group on the scene right now.

Oakland based production duo, Dimond Saints, will open the show.

Tickets are available at Cargo Concert Hall’s page.

ABOUT Shaun Astor

Picture of Shaun Astor
Shaun Astor cites pop music singers and social deviants as being among his strongest influences. His vices include vegan baking, riding a bicycle unreasonable distances and fixating on places and ideas that make up the subject of the sentence, "But that’s impossible…" He splits his time between Reno and a hammock perched from ghost town building foundations.
