SUMMARY:Valhalla Tahoe: Eric Henry Andersen
DESCRIPTION:Eric Henry Andersen performs in the Valhalla Boathouse Theatre on Wednesday\, July 27. \nEric Henry Andersen’s signature emotive tenor voice and award-winning songwriting has captured the hearts of audiences for over a decade. As co-lead singer/songwriter of pop/rock group\, The Novelists\, Andersen has toured all over the nation sharing festival bills with and opening for artists such as Train\, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy\, Allen Stone\, Glenn Philips (Toad the Wet Sprocket) and Daryl Stuermer. Andersen also released his first solo project since 2012 earlier this year. “Holding Space” is a collection of songs about love\, loss and transition. “It’s about owning your truth and realizing the beauty of impermanence\,” Andersen says. The self-produced five song EP is rich with the melodic hooks we’ve grown to expect from Andersen and fans will find it to be his most cohesive and heartbreakingly sincere work yet. “Holding Space” reveals a new level of maturity in both emotional and artistic expression.

SUMMARY:Bluesdays: Albert Castiglia
DESCRIPTION:Albert Castiglia is back at Bluesdays in The Village at Palisades Tahoe. \nThe star is shining brightly these days on Albert Castiglia. \nThe Blues Music Awards named him 2022’s Best Blues Rock Artist and his 2020 record\, “Masterpiece\,” Best Blues Rock Album.” His latest album\, “I Got Love” moved atop the blues charts for multiple weeks upon its March 25 release. \nAlthough he presents an original sound on “I Got Love\,” snatches of key inspirations do shine through from time to time. \nThis spring\, Castiglia was one-half of The Blood Brothers Tour with Mike Zito\, owner of Gulf Coast Records. \n“They call me a ‘slinger\,’ ” he said. “There’s an edge to what I do. I’m along the rock-blues vein.” \nCastiglia is a 48-year-old Floridian. He began touring with Junior Wells at the age of 27 and has gone on to record 13 solo albums. \nIt all started when a 12-year-old Castiglia heard Muddy Waters’ album “Hard Again.” \n“That’s the record that changed my life and when I knew I wanted to be a blues musician\,” he said. \nCastiglia also played at Bluesdays in 2018 and 2013.

SUMMARY:The Black Crowes
DESCRIPTION:  \nCThe Black Crowes will perform at the Grand Sierra Resort at 8 p.m. Friday\, July 22. Tickets — $89.50 — go on sale Feb. 25. \nIn 1990\, when journalists were lamenting the death of rock\, as cheesy pop and hair metal dominated the charts\, Atlanta’s Black Crowes gave the genre a swift and much needed kickstart with “Shake Your Money Maker.” Fueled by singles “Jealous Again\,” “Twice As Hard\,” “She Talks To Angels\,” and the break-through cover of Otis Redding’s “Hard To Handle\,” the band immediately took the rock world by storm\, topping Rolling Stone’s “Best New American Band Readers Poll” in late 1990. The Black Crowes went on to release eight studio and four live albums\, selling in the tens of millions along the way and selling out shows around the world. \nIn 2021\, the band launched the 30th anniversary Shake Your Money Maker Tour to a sold-out crowd at the Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville. With over 37 dates and\, two-hour-long sets\, lead-singer Chris Robinson and guitarist Rich Robinson took the juke-joint inspired stage with longtime bassist Sven Pipien\, igniting the crowd with classics from the iconic album. Taking the country by storm last summer\, their return was marked as one of the first rock ‘n’ roll tours to hit the road since the pandemic began in March 2020.

SUMMARY:Valhalla Tahoe: Pixie and the Partygrass Boys
DESCRIPTION:Pixie and the Partygrass Boys play the Valhalla Boathouse Theatre on Wednesday\, July 20. \nHailed as “The hottest band in the Wasatch” by the intermountain acoustic music Association\, Partygrass isn’t exactly bluegrass\, or newgrass or pop or punk or rock and roll. Pixie and the Partygrass Boys played this year’s WinterWonderGrass Festival. TDrawing influence from the bluegrass roots of Appalachia and transporting it straight to the western edge of the Rockies\, Pixie and the Partygrass Boys create a uniquely American sound. Inspired by Landscapes from coast to coast\, the group combines classical training with jazz\, Broadway\, pop-punk.

SUMMARY:Bluesdays: Dennis Jones Band
DESCRIPTION:Dennis Jones Band returns to Bluesdays in The Village at Palisades Tahoe. \n“I’ve got plenty of time to sleep when I die\,” Dennis Jones sang on his seventh album\, 2020’s “Soft Hard & Loud.”\nThe Los Angeles triple threat has a bit of a double life in music: He’s a rocker and he’s a bluesman.\\nDuring his last time on the Bluesdays bandstand in 2019\, he told the audience: “This is not just about the Dennis Jones Band\,” he said. “It’s about live music. There’s more to life than sitting behind a computer and talking on a cellphone. Life is going by. Get out there and mingle.”\nNo one knew that a few months later the world would have a pandemic\, ending and changing lives\, forcing people to put things in perspective. The Dennis Jones Band’s fourth Bluesdays show will be a celebration to savor.\nJones is influenced by Jimi Hendrix and Robin Trower. Veins on his arms bulge when bendsd strings on his Stratocaster with his fingers and barres them with his thumb. Like fellow guitar greats Coco Montoya\, Jack White and Tab Benoit\, Jones is a former drummer. His percussion erudition doubtless helps him create so many great songs. Jones is an undisputed guitar virtuoso\, but the song is everything to him.\nJones’s studio and performing bandmates are his longtime drummer Raymond Johnson and bassist Corney Mims\, who co-produced the latest album.
