Showtime: 8 p.m. \n“I am peeking my head out the door\, doing all I can to stay safe\,” Seals told Tahoe Onstage. \nSeals has hardly performed since March 2020 when his tour was canceled. Since then\, the ex-keyboard player with the Jerry Garcia Band survived scrapes with Covid-19 and another potentially very serious condition\, both what he described as “mild.” \nThe last time Melvin Seals and JGB performed in the Crown Room was nearly five years ago\, July 15\, 2017. He appeared with the supergroup Zero on Nov. 23\, 2019. \nThe pandemic struck just after the group added guitarist John “K” Kadlecik\, formerly of the Dark Star Orchestra. The rhythm section is John-Paul McLean on bass and Jeremy Hoenig on drums. \n“I think I have the best band that I’ve ever had\,” Seals said. “The puzzle is now put together quite well. When you have the right pieces\, it fits\, it works\, it’s good. In music terms\, it’s the best we’ve ever sounded.” \nThe ensemble doesn’t include backup singers. With a quartet\, Seals said he can go to his library of 130 songs when he meticulously prepares a new setlist for each show. The longtime player with Jerry Garcia plays in the spirit of the Grateful Dead\, but will only play a few of the band’s songs\, and never any that are often covered by other groups.

DESCRIPTION:The Circle Jerks will perform Sunday\, Feb. 27 in Cargo Concert Hall in Reno. Negative Approach & Adolescents open. Tickets are $27.50. \nCircle Jerks have once again rescheduled their North American 40th anniversary tour. The hardcore-punk legends’ updated itinerary features a series of separate legs that run from September of this year through May of next year\, with Municipal Waste\, Adolescents\, and Negative Approach providing support on select dates. Originally\, Circle Jerks had planned to tour in celebration of the 40th anniversary of their landmark debut album\, Group Sex\, beginning in May of 2020. Those dates were postponed to spring of 2021 due to the pandemic\, but were since delayed again. Now\, the legendary band plans to hit the road for a few dates in early September (including appearances at Riot Fest and Punk Rock Bowling)\, before playing three shows in the Southwest in late October. From there\, they’ll be back on the road for seven East Coast shows in December\, before taking a two-month break. They’ll pick things back up in 2022 on February 19th in Anaheim\, California\, with dates running through a May 1st stop in Dallas. The band also just announced that the lineup of classic members Keith Morris (lead vocals)\, Greg Hetson (guitar) and Zander Schloss (bass) will be rounded out by drummer Joey Castillo (pictured far right with the band above)\, best known for his work with Queens of the Stone Age and Danzig. “Please welcome our new drummer Joey Castillo to the fold\,” posted the band on Facebook. “He’s making us sound like a well-oiled machine and we’re excited to bring this lineup to a city near you.”

Over the last two decades\, Shinedown have cemented their status as one of the most vital and forward-thinking powerhouses in modern rock. Their most ambitious and masterfully realized work to date\, Planet Zero is a high-concept\, ultra-vivid\, viscerally charged saga.  A critical yet optimistic look at the fractures and frays of a society that has undergone many challenges in the last few years\, the album is part social commentary and part in-depth exploration of the human psyche.  Produced by Shinedown’s Eric Bass (who also produced the band’s 2018 acclaimed album ATTENTION ATTENTION\,) Planet Zero matches its immersive world-building and takedown of authoritarianism with a deliberately unvarnished sound\, and the album is spliced with interludes featuring Cyren\, an insidious and unsettling robot character that appears throughout the Planet Zero journey. Rapper Eazy-E of the group N.W.A signed Bone Thugs-n-Harmony to Ruthless Records in late 1993\, when Bone Thugs debuted with EP Creepin on ah Come Up.
