Air National Guard Band of the West Coast Concert Band

The 562nd Air National Guard Band of the West Coast will present a free concert at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 3 in TJ’s Corral at the Carson Valley Inn. The Patriots in Blue Jazz Ensemble will perform first followed by a patriotic tribute by the entire Air National Guard Band of the West Coast Concert Band.

As a musical ambassador, the 562nd Air National Guard Band of the West Coast supports the global Air Force, Air National Guard missions, and the community by fostering patriotism and providing musical services. The various components of the band perform for audiences all over the world although the primary service is to communities throughout California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.  The 30 plus musicians perform in the following highly acclaimed and award winning bands: Air National Guard Band of the West Coast Concert/Marching Band, The Patriots in Blue (Jazz Ensemble), The Dixieland Tailgaters (Dixieland Band), and the rock bands – the Global Strike and 3 Nine Line.

Under the command of Major Vu Nguyen, band members meet two days a month to rehearse, perform and participate in an annual two-week summer tour. During the annual tour, the band functions as an active-duty band, rehearsing, traveling, and performing. Past tours have included performances in Alaska, Australia, British Columbia, the Dominican Republic, Hawaii, New York, Florida, and throughout the state of California.
