No ring rust: Ricardo Lucio-Galvan wins by decision

Ricardo Lucio-Galvan was looking for a fourth-round knockout and almost got it, but he settled for his third-straight win.

Lucio-Galvansecured a four-round unanimous decision against Mobley Villegas, improving to 3-0 with two knockouts. Villegas, from Amarillo, Texas, fell to 2-1.

Lucio-Galvan came off a 20-month layoff. His last fight was on Feb. 16, 2018 at the Grand Sierra Resort.

The Reno native didn’t disappoint. His lightning-quick hands led to several combinations to the body. Villegas stood tall and delivered a few blows of his own, but Lucio-Galvan secured a knockdown with a quick left hook in the fourth round.

Lucio-Galvan took an early first round lead. Villegas had a bruise on his left forehead via a quick right jab from Galvan.

The second round opened with a loud “Ricky!” chant from the home crowd. Lucio-Galvan followed it up with a powerful left-right combination that brought the fans to their feet. Villegas took most of the blows until the waning seconds when Lucio-Galvanhurt him with another left hook at the bell.

Villegas responded with his best round of the night. He landed several body shots to keep Lucio-Galvan off-guard. Both fighters exchanged blows toward the end of the bell, and Villegas capped-off the round with a left hook to the face.

Lucio-Galvanran away with the win with a dominant fourth round. His quick combinations led to a series of left hooks that had Villegas backed toward the ropes. The crowd put a stamp on the fight with another “Ricky!” chant.

In his first fight of the year, Lucio-Galvan looked fresh and out for blood.
