It’s “Local Showcase” Friday, Sept. 6 in the Crystal Bay Casino.
A free doubleheader in the Crown Room features two of North Shore’s best: Mama’s Cookin’ and Peter Joseph Burtt and the King Tide.
The Red-Room after-party will be led by “Smoked out Soul” with Zeb Early and Friends.
Mama’s Cookin’ was formed in 2000. It is led by Zeb Early, an accomplished guitarist out of Memphis who plays a contemporary mix of blues and hip-hop. The Black Keys have a like-minded approach. Steve LaBella plays bass and Mike Adamo is the drummer.
Peter Joseph Burtt studied African drums when he lived in Zimbabwe, Ghana and Gambia. He plays guitar, kora and thumb piano. He calls his music soulful world style blues.
At 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 the Red Room will have an EP release party for Selby with Basement-ality from Herd of Turtles.
